What We Do: The Alliance for Education System Components

The Alliance for Education is focused on supporting strategic work in three areas: education, family involvement and economic and workforce development. Each component supports the overall goal of producing an educated and qualified workforce, vibrant economy and sustainable communities in San Bernardino County. The Alliance provides a variety of resources and opportunities to help students and their families, educators, and businesses and community partners achieve this goal.

Education: The Alliance strengthens a standards-based, academically rigorous curriculum through relevant, hands-on learning opportunities provided by business, labor, and community partnerships.

Family Involvement: The Alliance provides family education, parent involvement activities and literacy programs and resources through education institutions, businesses, and community/faith-based organizations.

Economic and Workforce Development: The Alliance utilizes current systems of workforce preparation in order to effectively align common goals and resources and deliver services, education and/or training to students and adults countywide. The Alliance for Education has aligned common goals with:

  • Regional Occupational Programs (ROP) and secondary Career Technical Education (CTE) programs
  • Postsecondary education partners
  • San Bernardino County Economic Development Department
  • The county's Workforce Development Department
  • County and City Workforce Investment Boards

Students and adults will access workforce resources through the Alliance website and the Workforce Access Matrix and Partnership Connection. An emphasis on successful transitions between schools and through completion of post-secondary college and career preparation increases the realization of an educated and qualified workforce.
