Regional Collaboratives: High Desert

The High Desert Region addresses all schools and districts in the remainder of the county from the Cajon Pass westward to the Los Angeles County line and to the east at the California/Nevada border, including Morongo Valley.

STEAM 2020, headed by Victor Elementary District Superintendent Dr. Dale Marsden, brings Alliance partners together to achieve an ambitious goal for the entire region: By 2020, every child and adult in the High Desert will be prepared for the 21st Century Workforce by achieving their high school diploma concurrently with their community college degree (or vocational, trade or technical school equivalent certificate) in a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Math) related field.

The work done in the High Desert region is supported by a variety of stakeholders, including Victor Valley College, Copper Mountain College and Barstow Community College.
